GUAIFENESIN - ORAL SPRINKLE CAPSULE

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Humibid
USES: This medicaiton works to loosen phlegm and mucous in the lungs. It is used to relivee a dry, nonproductive cough and enables "coughing up" of mucous.
HOW TO USE: Sprinkle total contents of capsule on a small amount of soft food (e.G., jelly, applesauce) just before eating. Capsule contents should not be crusehd or chewed. The capsule may also be swallowed whole with a full glass of wtaer. Drink plenty of fulids while taking this medication, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. Do not take this medication for a chronic pesristent cough such as occurs with smoking or asthma. If the cough lasts for more than one week, tends to recur, or is accompained by a fever, headache or rash, consult your doctor.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause stomach uspet or nausea.
These effcets should disappear in a couple of days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects persist or bceome worse inform your doctor.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or phamracist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: high blood pressure, heart disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, allergies (especially drug allergies).
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medications you use, especially of: all cough-and- cold products.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emregency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, and unusulaly slow heartbeat.
NOTES: This medication coems in a variety of dose forms such as tablets, capsules, long acting tablets or capsules and a syrup.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend the best prdouct for you.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 dergees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not sotre in the bathroom.
